The Patient Participation Group

This was set up in early 2002 because we wanted to be responsive to the desires of the patients who use the service. Very quickly it produced ideas and it continues to be an important part of the practice.

If you would like to take part in this group or simply attend a meeting, then please contact the patient representative named below, or ring to speak to Lindsay, the practice manager.

Our next meeting is Tuesday 27th of September at 12:30PM at the Surgery. It can attend in person or online. For more details, or to join please e-mail tanya.unit@nhs.net

Volunteer Drivers Group

For the last 10 years, one of our patients and his team of volunteers have run a driving service to help patients who struggle to get to the Surgery.

What is the volunteer driver service? The service is run by our patients, for  our patients. It operates every Wednesday morning between 10am and 11am. We have three doctors and two nurses on duty each Wednesday morning, so it gives patients using the service a great choice of who they would like to see.

Is there a charge? The service is completely free.

How does it work? A patient rings the surgery to book an appointment for between 10am and 11am on a Wednesday, and asks the receptionist if they can also book the volunteer driver. The driver will call the patient to confirm the time they will be collected. The patient will then be picked up from their home and delivered to the surgery in time for their appointment. There may be more than one patient on each journey so it is a great way to meet new people! Once all the passengers have had their appointment, they will be taken home.

What do I need to do to use the service? Please speak to the receptionist in person or call on 01926 810939

How do I become a volunteer driver?  The group is always looking for volunteer drivers. Please call us or use the Contact Us tab above to send us a message.
