Intro

Symptoms of anxiety and depression are sadly incredibly common, but fortunately are often very treatable. By understanding the symptoms of anxiety and depression it is possible to seek help and attempt to overcome these symptoms.

Treatment can range from self help, psychotherapy and medication. Often self help and psychological therapy provide the most successful and enduring outcomes. If symptoms are particular troublesome, medication can be used.

It is suggested that you consider accessing self help or psychotherapy and the details are given below. You can self refer, meaning a referral from a GP is not required. If you are really struggling, please get in touch and we can discuss your options and consider whether medication may have a role to play.

Psychological therapy

Psychological therapy can be an incredibly powerful tool to help, and includes common treatments such as counselling and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). This service is offered locally through IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies).

You can access their services by calling 024 7667 1090 or complete the online IAPT referral form. You will then be booked in to speak to a qualified practitioner who can help.

Medication

If you are really struggling, medication may help. We most commonly use medications called SSRI’s (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors). Please feel free to contact us to discuss further. Further information regarding these medications can be found HERE.
